1948 Hillman Minx

USED

1948 Hillman Minx Convertible. This is a really nice project car that comes with a lot of parts to build it with, new glass, and much much more. I understand this car was only built for about 10 months in 1948. The frame has been built to pro street specks. It has a narrowed 9 inch Ford rear-end with weld wheels. The car is almost ready to paint. It will make an awesome ride when completed. It has s V6 Chevy engine setting under the hood. I do not know anything about it. You don't see these often! 1939 Hillman Minx

USED

1939 Pre-War Hillman Minx Saloon The 1938 model was not the final iteration before the outbreak of war, however, as the 1939 model was considerably different mechanically, with virtually the entire drive-train improved to the extent that few parts are interchangeable with the 1938 model. This includes gearbox, differential, half shafts, steering box, and a great many other mechanical and cosmetic changes. Even the front grille, which to the casual eye looks almost identical to the 1938 model, became a pressed alloy component rather than a composite. Rootes was the first company to enter the Government's Shadow Factory Scheme for the volume manufacture of aeroplanes and aero engines. By the time the sirens were sounding, Rootes factories were turning out aircraft as well as vehicles for the R.A.F. and other services. In 1942, as a result of the raising of Coventry and other prodigious war work, William became Sir William Rootes, Knight Commander of the British Empire. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please Call First and talk to a rep at 231-468-2809 EXT 1 -Showroom is by appointment only Please Call -If you would like a FREE Listing please visit our consignment page or Call

1946 Hillman Minx Mark I

USED

1946 Hillman Minx Mark I Saloon Here is a great example of a post WWII registered Minx Mark I as is recognized by his protruding boot/trunk which replaced the flat back look with only three previous owners. Giles is a saloon as compared to an estate car or a drophead coupe (convertible). Being reintroduced in 1945 with no less than 57 improvements over the pre-war New Minx (which look nearly identical) the price soared to £442 (or about $729 US dollars) in October 1946. Giles boasts a 12-volt battery (new for the times) for instant starting. The 1946 Hillman Minx Mark I is described in an advert of the time as “flared bonnet and streamline luggage locker give (an) ultra-smart appearance”. Peacetime assessments in 1945 revealed that the Rootes Group had made one out of every seven bombers produced in the United Kingdom during the war, 60 percent of the armoured cars and 30 percent of the scout cars. In 1950, as Chairman of the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, William Rootes played the major role in organizing the first ever British Motor Show in the USA. -Vehicle is on consignment and at our clients home -Please Call First and talk to a rep at 231-468-2809 EXT 1 -Showroom is by appointment only Please Call -If you would like a FREE Listing please visit our consignment page or Call
