Is it really free to post my car for sale?

Yes! You can post your vehicle for sale absolutely free of charge. We DO NOT charge a listing fee, a sellers fee, or a commission fee. We only ask that you help spread our name by referring us to your family, friends, and co-workers. We are positive you will be successful, so help us out by spreading the word the next time you know of someone looking to buy or sell a used vehicle.

How do you make money if you don't charge for listings?

Great Question. We make our money by providing upgraded services to automotive dealerships. These services include things such as custom dealer websites, stock photos, and automated inventory management, "import / exports". We also have affiliate partnerships with insurance companies, carfax, and finance institutions. We do have some advertising space, however we try and keep that to a very minimum since we strongly dislike websites cluttered in advertising.

How do I post my car free?

Posting your vehicle for sale couldn't be any easier or faster. All your going to need is some information on your vehicle.

You can post your listing from either your user account or by clicking the post car link at the top right of any page on our website.

Once you have clicked a post car, or sell my car free link, just follow the steps.

How do I build a great listing? I want to sell my car fast!

Building a great listing can be a little challenging if it is your first time, however we have seen thousands of successful listings and we do have a few tips to offer.

  • VIN - Be sure to add your vehicles VIN, Vehicle Identification Number, to your listing. Although it is only recommended and not required, you will want to enable potential buyers to purchase a carfax report on your vehicle. Establishing a trusted relationship is one of the most important parts to selling your vehicle. Your VIN can be found on either your vehicles registration, insurance card, title, or door jam / lower right side of the driver window. This may very from state to state or by manufacture.
  • Vehicle Details - Be sure to fill in all the fields on your listing so that you provide maximum detail to potential buyers.
  • Vehicle Description - When creating a vehicle description, poor some emotion into it. Imagine trying to sell this vehicle to a friend, the last thing you would say is that it has power windows, power locks, cruise control etc. Those things are nice features, but no way to sell a vehicle. Here is my convertible example, example #1 - "2004 BMW Convertible with PL, PW, Cruise, Tilt, AC, CD." Hmm do I have you sold? Probably not, so lets try this again. Example #2 - I'm selling an amazing 2004 BMW Convertible. "This car has been absolutely wonderful to me. Taking the family out on a hot summer day with the top down has been a blast. I hate to let this vehicle go, but I'm ready to let someone else live the fun of this amazing car". Better? Absolutely, you'll want to try and put the potential buyer behind the wheel of the vehicle when he/she reads your description. Be sure to describe the condition of the vehicle as well as the maintenance.
  • Price Your Car Right - We all would love to sell our cars for the same price we paid for it, but unfortunately the world doesn't work like that. When pricing your vehicle, take the time to see what the market is willing to pay for it. If you are selling a 2000 Saturn and the average market price is $3,000, it is not recommended to ask $6,000. You can use free sources such as www.kbb.com or www.nada.com to find the value of your vehicle. Values will very depending on condition and other factors.
  • Photos - Photos speak a million words, more people will look at the photos than read the text. We allow you to upload up to 35 free photos per vehicle. We recommend you use them all up. If there is any kind of damage such as dings, dents, scratches, tears, or anything else, be sure to get a photo of it as well as describe the damage in the description. Make sure the photos you take are very clear, do not take pictures in the dark and expect a potential buyer to be able to see the vehicle in detail.
  • Contact Info - Make sure you provide as much contact info as possible.
  • Post Listing - Lastly when you arrive at the preview page, be sure to click the post free listing button before exiting the preview page.

If you follow these simple tips, you should be able to increase your chances of selling your vehicle in a timely fashion.
